Server Rules

LucidRP Server Rules

All members must abide by the LucidRP Terms of Service and Code of Conduct.

*You are required to have an account on the LucidRP Discord Server in order to get the correct roles and permissions.

Community Respect

Personal insults and/or verbal attacks outside of roleplay, as well as other forms of harassment are strictly prohibited. Racism, homophobia, transphobia, sexism, hate and/or other abusive or derogatory language will also not be tolerated.

LucidRP Age Requirement

You must be 18 years or older in order to apply for Whitelist on our community. This is non-negotiable.

LucidRP Chat Policy

No Advertisement: It's great that you have something you wish to share with everyone, but we'd ask that you don't advertise anything without first consulting a LucidRP staff member.

No Spam: You will refrain from spamming any of our channels on our Discord server.

No Drama: You will handle disputes and disagreements through direct messages or by submitting a Report on our Discord. Drama and arguing will not be tolerated in any voice or text channels.

No Arguing: You will refrain from arguing with members of LucidRP.  If you think a staff member was unfair, create a ticket in Discord.

Toxicity

Regarding the rules above: speaking out publicly in a reckless manner, encouraging toxic behavior, and/or fueling drama within the community outside of RP could result in being removed from the community. Gas lighting, stirring the pot and inciting drama is unacceptable.

Ticket Procedures

Complaints

Any complaints, disputes or queries are to be handled by: Creating a ticket in discord for staff to handle your situation effectively and appropriately. To appeal a ban, please put in a “ban appeal ticket” - that is the ONLY way to handle appealing a ban.

*Do not DM staff directly. All issues need to be handled in tickets.

Under no circumstances should you take any personal issues that you have with the way a scene played out and make it public. Do not attack someone in their DMs or comment about it on their live streaming platform. If you have a problem - open a ticket and let staff deal with it. If not, this could be seen as a form of meta-gaming and result in a ban.

Comp of “lost” money/items

If something has been lost within the game due to a bug, open a ticket in Discord and put your evidence in there for staff to see. Items will only be comped with provided evidence and within reason. All comps will be done at staff’s discretion and there is no guarantee that your items or money will be refunded.

Playing music while in the city

Playing any type of music, copyright or non-copyright, is not allowed to be played through your microphone/voicebox. The only type of music that is allowed is the music that you can play from a TV using a Youtube link, but it must be non-copyright.

LucidRP In-Game Rules

Fail RP

FailRP is defined as failing to stick to your in-game roleplaying. This could be anything from talking out-of-character, breaking the physics of real-life mannerisms just because you know it is a game, and/or simply not acting in your character’s manner.

  • Character and Actions

You must stay in character at all times while on the server. Breaking character could result in a ban. Some examples of breaking character or roleplaying in an unrealistic manner could be:

  • By saying/doing anything out of the realms of your character
  • Using IRL talk, names, information, age, etc.
  • “Giving up” on a scene because you don't like the outcome
  • Speaking OOC
  • Taking things personally and then allowing that to influence your future actions.
  • Driving non off-road vehicles on or up mountains to evade police
  • Failing to RP with EMS regarding injuries
  • Cop baiting
  • Assuming you know who someone is when they are wearing a mask and have disguised their voice
  • etc...

Characters

Each character you create on Lucid must be unique in their own ways. You may not have 2 of the same style character. If you perma one style character, you cannot bring in a new character that is exactly like your previous character.

Example: You cannot perma a character who was a Vago and then bring in a brand new Vago.

For character names, you must create a character with a realistic name. Pre-existing people such as celebrity names or names along the same basis as “Mike Hunt” are not allowed.

If you choose to perma-death a character, you are doing so knowing that you cannot bring that character back from the dead. That character’s life and stories have ended when you perma them. Keep that in mind when contemplating perma-deathing a character.

Meta-Gaming

Meta-Gaming (also known as Stream Sniping) is using external factors, information, or knowledge your character would not be able to obtain through normal means of gameplay. This includes, but is not limited to, information gained through livestreams, videos, other characters, and text channels on Discord.

*If you have concerns that someone is meta-gaming, DO NOT stop your scene to handle it. Let the roleplay happen. When the scene has finished, open up a ticket on Discord with your concerns and attach any evidence you have regarding the meta-gaming. If you contact Admin/Staff/Support on any platform (DMs/whispers/etc) regarding the scene you may be banned. There is a ticket system in place for a reason - do not reach out to staff. Open up a ticket in Discord so we can investigate the scene.

Ignoring RP

You are expected to engage in the roleplay that is taking place around you on our server. This does not mean constantly talking. It just means to not turn away an RP opportunity.

Fear RP

At all times during roleplay you must value your life and the lives of others. If a threat is placed on your life, you must RP in a negotiable manner. Not complying with someone who has placed a threat on your life or stating “just kill me” when someone is holding a gun to your head is considered failing to Fear RP and could result in a ban. You must always bargain for your life.

New Life Rule

New Life rule is defined as forgetting the last 30 minutes of your life if you are “incapaciated” and do not receive medical attention. Should your character be incapacitated on the server and not receive any medical treatment on-scene, they will find themselves being “airlifted” to the nearest hospital after 20 minutes of being down. This is the only situation where the New Life Rule is mandatory.

This means you may not return to the scene of your injury for a minimum of 30 minutes from the time you went down (not including the 20 minute respawn time).

You will not remember the events from the 30 minutes prior that led directly to your injury, including but not limited to the person/object that incapacitated you, your exact location, and what exactly you were doing.

Power-Gaming

Power-Gaming (also known as Forced Roleplay) generally happens when someone sacrifices roleplay to favour their own character or to “win” a given scenario. Powergaming is also abusing or exploiting in-game mechanics or bugs, usually done so in order to gain an advantage. There is no “winning” or “losing” within roleplay, and we view this attitude as detrimental to a good roleplay community.

Stealing Vehicles

You may steal another player’s vehicle and use it as you wish, but if you are going to store it in your garage then you must only hold it until the next server restart, unless both parties agree otherwise for the scene. After the restart the player is able to retrieve it from impound. It is best to make it known if you are going to steal another person’s vehicle so that they are aware and do not retrieve it from impound before then.

No Random/Vehicular Deathmatch (RDM/VDM)

Random Deathmatch is the act of harming another character with your vehicle or character without any form of prior interaction of RP. Accidentally injuring another player is not considered RDM/VDM as long as there is an attempt to initiate role-play after the fact. VDM is not allowed unless an immediate threat is placed upon your life, and in that sense would be a very rare case, such as someone with a shotgun shooting you from outside your car.

Multiple Characters

It is prohibited to transfer money between characters for the reason of gaining money. Any players caught doing this, its power and meta gaming and could possibly face a ban.

Value Consequence

Every action will have a consequence and set in motion a ripple effect throughout the city. Think worst case scenario, and if you are still happy with your actions, proceed.

Be aware of the reality of “snitching”, retaliation, repeated gun abuse, car chases, same M.O’s etc - if you cannot handle your consequences, that is not on anyone else’s RP.

Limits on Group Criminal Activity in Robberies

Any form of in-city robberies are limited to 4 players, unless the situation requires more for a scene in which case you MUST consult staff and have a conversation with them prior. When looking for hostages to kidnap or rob a player, only 4 players are allowed to be present. The only current robbery that can have more than 4 players is the aircraft carrier which cannot exceed 8 players. With general criminal robberies, you must only have 4 active participants in the direct robbery scene. However, you may have additional backup as long as none of that backup becomes directly involved, etc. No backup should shoot, attack, or physically change the scene.

No Ambush Roleplay

Ambush Roleplay means being aware of the situation and trying to match the number of players on the opposing side - most specifically when it comes to police officers.

To avoid toxicity in PD - If PD has someone in cuffs/in custody, you are not allowed to engage in that scene by trying to break that person out of PD’s custody. You must let PD have their scene now that they have apprehended the suspect.

Also, if 2 officers are currently dealing with a situation, no more than 2 people can retaliate. If it’s only one officer, only one person can be active in that scene.

This does not mean no one else can be present, this just means they can’t be active and trying to control the situation.

Ambush Roleplay in Regards to Gang

Server rule change: Gang activity and other in-city conflicts are limited to 4v4. NO more than 4 members are allowed to engage. The ONLY exception to this rule is if another group approaches you in your specific territory. At that point, the gang/group members already present on their territory can engage.

*War Variant: If you want to extend past the gang war rules, such as numbers, both parties/gang leaders need to agree to it.

Example: Vagos and MC have beef. 6 Vagos are at the taco stand and the MC decides to come to Vagos territory starting a war. Only 4 MC are allowed to go to the scene. Since they showed up to the Vagos territory, the 6 Vagos may engage in the scene. HOWEVER, no more Vagos or MC can show up and engage. Anywhere else in the city it is limited to 4v4 so you better get your 4 best shooters and roleplay out finding neutral territory or get ready to fight with only 4 if you are going to approach someone else's area.

Extreme/Sexual Roleplay

We do not tolerate any form of terror, racism, sexism, sexual harassment, rape, suicidal, or miscarraige roleplay. Do NOT use any type of language regarding rape or use severe deragatory comments regarding someone in the server. Using comments like those above may result in a ban.

Roleplay which a character may be killed, significantly altered, disfigured, or which would realistically change the long-term behavior of a person must be agreed to by the parties directly involved, and proof of this agreement must be provided to a member of LucidRP if it is asked for - this can simply be a screenshot in most cases.

This is to prevent one player from forcing roleplay on to another player. For example; Character 1 cannot roleplay removing the finger of Character 2 without both players having agreed to the scenario beforehand.

If you are wanting to roleplay a specific scenario that may trigger other’s emotions, for example roleplaying a character with a terminal illness, you must open a ticket in Discord asking for approval by staff as this type of roleplay can be seen as distressful to others.

This rule does not apply if you choose to permanently kill your own character after the actions of another character causes them to be injured.

No “0-60” Roleplay

We define “0-60 Roleplay” as roleplay without any consideration for pacing and/or realism. It’s essentially shortcutting your way to the end result for your win. The best storylines and characters take time to build and progress to make good, realistic roleplay.

LucidRP Communication

In-Game Voice

This is a realistic RP server, so a microphone is required to roleplay in LucidRP. If your microphone is broken or not working, you must leave the city and return when it is fixed, as we do not support text-based roleplay.

Game chat must be turned on in GTA, and our form of communication will be found in connection-info in the LucidRP Discord.

*We reserve the right to remove players from our server(s) should their microphone quality be deemed too poor.*

No External Forms of Communication

You may not use third-party software, such as Discord, to communicate with other people while in the city. This will be considered Meta-Gaming.

Language Barriers

We appreciate that English isn’t everyone’s first language, but we ask that English is the only language used for communication within our Discord server, and in-game on our servers.

LucidRP Specific GTA Rules

General

  • Abusing a lack of police presence is considered to be FailRP and/or power-gaming.
  • You are to finish active roleplay before taking action against any in-game issues including rule-breaking, bugs, drama, and anything else you feel needs to be discussed and/or reported to LucidRP.

Illegal Activity Before Server Restarts

We do not allow any illegal activities 30 minutes prior to a server restart. If you are caught doing illegal activity 30 minutes prior to a server restart it is a bannable offense.

Combat Logging

Combat Logging is a term that refers to exiting the server via disconnect, F8, or crashing after being “downed”. Essentially, it is when a user exits the server after being downed to avoid losing whatever items are on them. This is strictly against the rules and is a bannable offense. If your computer crashes or you are downed by a bug, you must open a general support ticket informing staff of the situation before continuing the scene.

Cop Baiting

Cop baiting is prohibited on the server. You are not permitted to draw the attention of Law Enforcement Officers (LEO’s) to one location while another group of characters attempts to commit crime in another location.

Example: Speeding around cops harassing them while honking over and over just to get their attention for a chase because you are bored.

Prison Breaks and Prison Transportation

It is restricted to breaking people out of prison from the yard, or any other prison break. As of now, it is unacceptable. You are not to enter the prison yard either, whether or not you extract them.

This will be due to change with new ideas and possibly a new prison break system coming, BUT as it stands now, prison break from the yard will be prohibited.

Prison Bus transportation ambush is ONLY acceptable when PD approves of a transportation to the arresting criminal(s). The arresting criminals will get a phone call to communicate the transport. No more than 6 people can interfere with the bus and be a part of this prison break.

Kidnapping

Kidnapping is completely allowed within reason. If you are the one being kidnapped, you must follow the Fear RP guidelines.

Kidnapping Law Enforcement Officers is allowed, but make sure there are at least 4 on duty before attempting to kidnap. LEOs will still need to follow Fear RP guidelines if they are being kidnapped.

Kidnapping on-duty EMS is not allowed. Killing EMS is allowed, but only if the RP warrants it over time and is not 0-60. If you do want to have a scene with EMS that warrants them being killed, you need to ensure that they are not the only one on duty before you go ahead with your scene.

Non-Player Character (NPC) Interactions

The NPCs around the streets are to be treated with the same level of respect that you'd give to any Player Character that you encounter. It's common, and totally okay, to refer to them as "Locals" but it's not acceptable to treat them as disposable. Without these NPCs the world you roleplay in would feel incredibly small.

When it comes to interacting with locals during conflict or illegal jobs, such as guards or local gang members, you are not permitted to use a vehicle to run them over in attempts to avoid police notifications or interactions.

Stealing police weapons

Officer’s being reprimanded for a scene, taken hostage or been kidnapped can have weapons stolen from them only in very specific and rare situations. The guns can be taken by /robclosest with the officer’s hands up. This is for the scene and situational. This is for the purpose of the scene NOT to just steal weapons of officers just because you want their gun. You are not permitted to walk up to a LEO and force them to hand over or rob them of their weapons. Robbing PD just for the sake of taking their weapons is a bannable offense. Robbing a LEO in a scene wheras the scene was not originated by robbing an officer is fine if it makes sense for the scene and is situational. However, the consequences of getting caught with the police issued weapon is extreme and should deter you from doing so anyways.

If you play an officer, you don’t need to feel forced to hand over weapons OR if you feel they are only purely doing this to steal weapons this is NOT ALLOWED. You can do “/me give weapons”. If you do this, then you MUST abide by having no weapons even though the physical items are in your pockets.

If cops are being held up purely for weapons and item gaining, this is power gaming and is a bannable offense. Put in a ticket and staff can address the issue.

The same rule applies for Gruppe 6/Merrywether.

Police selling weapons/armor

Police officers are completely restricted from selling/giving away any police issued guns, ammo or armor to civilians. Being caught selling police issued weapons, ammo or armor to someone may result in a ban. This does NOT include melee items or tasers, only the illegal items such as weapons, armor, ammo, etc. Keep in mind that selling melee items or tasers can result in police disciplinary action if caught, but it is not a server rule.

Police are not permitted to leave weapons or armor in trunks just for the sole purpose of leaving their vehicle in an area for someone to purposely get into.

The same rule applies for Gruppe 6/Merrywether.

Fake Hostages/Robberies

Prearranging or organizing with a friend to take them as a hostage, especially to pay them after, is not allowed. You must RP out getting a hostage if you would like to use one in a robbery/kidnapping scene. All hostages MUST be authentic and RPd out finding a legitimate hostage, someone who you have no affiliation with. You are not allowed to take people you know or people within your group/gang as a hostage.

Do not text any whitelisted job phone line such as PD, Mechanics, Taxi, etc. just to take them hostage or rob them. Baiting these jobs for the sole purpose of taking them hostage or robbing them is not allowed. Get creative and find a genuine hostage the right way.

Fake Robberies are not allowed. You may not start a robbery then leave without justifiable reason. If the aim is purely to avoid police interaction, this is considered FailRP and Ignoring RP.

EMS Vehicles/Aircrafts

You are not allowed to steal ANY player-used EMS emergency vehicles such as ambulances, helicopters, or fire trucks. If you find a local ambulance or fire truck, you may use it for a scene, but do not use it if it produces toxicity.

Carrying and Trunk Policy

You can /carry in a car with the following rules:

2 seater/2 door = 4 people max

4 seater/4 door = 5 people max

Bikes = 2 people max (you can /carry if you are the only one on the bike)

Only one person is allowed to be stuffed in the trunk.

Inactivity in Regards to Player-Owned Properties and Imported Cars

If any roleplayer is inactive from the city for 2-3 months without notice, their properties and imported cars may be repossessed and either resold back to the company, or auctioned to the public due to “unpaid taxes”. This is to ensure that any unused properties or import cars are not going to waste and are going back into the active members of the community. If a roleplayer will be inactive due to valid reasons and does intend to come back, you are to inform Staff by creating a General Support ticket so the items are not repossessed.
